Bid Team PreparationWinning large projects requires every member of your team to perform at their best. Sales people are often not allowed in selection interviews and your success depends on convincing a project owner that individually and collectively your people offer the best chances of an outstanding project outcome.
The process to evaluate and select a team to deliver a large project, especially as an Integrated Project Team (IPT) is complex and rigorous. Following the submission of a Tender, RFI or EOI, bidding teams are put through a series of interviews, selection panels and group workshops which are designed to test all aspects of the desktop submission and the team proposed to deliver the project. A project can be won or lost on how well your team can explain the value they bring as individuals and as a team or organisation. Every team member needs to articulate and persuade an evaluation panel that they have the capability, competence, culture and commitment to deliver the project objectives. The tasks involved in preparing a bid team typically include; - Bid analysis and alignment - Bid theme development - Key issues identification - Value adding and breakthrough identification - Individual interview coaching - Team exercises and collaboration - Panel presentation skills |
